Charity Painting Progress May 9th Completed:

Ok, I've started the painting for the charity auction.  I'm going to start a brand new post for this so it's a continuous updating post.  I'll add the newest pictures to the bottom so you can all scroll down to see it's development.  I'll update the title of the post with the date of every update so you can tell when I've added new images and don't have to scroll down each time to just check.
So here we go.

Sorry I hadn't updated for a couple days.  I've been so sore and exhausted.  Yesterday, my neighbor and I moved 8 tons of gravel with just a couple of shovels, a tarp and a bucket.  We went in together and bought gravel for our driveways which are basically one big driveway and the dump truck couldn't spread it because of a low hanging power line above, so he had to dump all 8 tons in a pile right in the middle and we had to spread it ourselves.  Needless to say, I'm not as in shape as I need to be.  I painted a little bit tonight but I will be back at it tomorrow.

Ok, It's pretty much done.  But even though it's signed I will I think still go back and highlight this or shadow that before I spray seal it for the last time.  It's just really late, or really early, however you wanna look at it tonight, so I'm just going to put it up and go to bed.  But here it is now.

Finished.

Now For My Next Trick:

Ok, Canvas painting time again.  If anyone remembers the last painting I did for that Fallen Officers charity thing I was asked to donate a painting to  last year, I was contacted again by the same person to do another one.  I said yes.  Here's the last one I did a year ago if anyone remembers.

This next one I'm doing is based more of Fallen Firemen than Cops. Not because of any biased. Just because I didn't a have a lot of prior notice and was having some trouble coming up with a concept for this new one involving both Dalmations and German Shepherds.  I would've needed a little more time to try and figure out something else, so I scanned through pictures of dogs online and usually when I see something I can work with to put into a painting, I get a vision.  So I did a firedog memorial painting this time.  AND, since the last time I used the name of a fallen fireman in the painting, this time I'm also using the name of a fallen fireman.  I looked up a story in the news where a Lt. Ambelas was killed tragically in a burning building last summer in NY.  So I've added his ladder company number 119, and his name to the helmet.

So this is the concept for the new painting.  It looks a little crude right now,...well,  a lot crude right now.  But what I'm going to for is a mostly black and white and grey tone painting with the red color being more bright.  You know how you see those painting or photographs where they're black n white and the only other color is like bright red or blue or something? Well, that's the idea.  Anyway, stay tuned tonight because I'm going to start painting it and will put step by step progress shots in a post as I go.  It's going to be 24 inches by 30 inches in size acrylic canvas.

Important Message Regarding Posted Comments!!

Hey guys, I'm gonna leave this up at the top of the blog for a while just because it's an announcement.  The updates on the Appaloosa's progress will continue in the thread directly under this one.  I got an email from someone today saying they were having trouble posting in my blog and they emailed to let me know this was a continuous problem for them.  I'd often wondered why I get so much traffic to the blog every day but hardly any posts.  And it's been like that for a while now. Apparently a LONG while. I get emails in response to blog posts all the time from people who've visited regularly, but I never asked if there were any problems.  Just assumed they would rather email directly.   I had no idea this was going on with the blog and that people had been trying to post and simply couldn't. I just thought most people had nothing to post. lol
I did have some trouble with the blog a while ago posting pictures, but I blamed that on AOL, and IE.  Both browsers basically froze up every time I tried to upload images.  Now, I'm starting to realize that's mostly Google because they obviously want people to use their own browser, Chrome. So mysteriously other browsers are having more and more trouble accessing, processing, navigating Google owned/associated sites, aps, and programs.    So reluctantly I had to download Chrome again just to be able to use my blog and upload pictures to it.  I also can't right click to save, or even access Google images with AOL anymore without it freezing up and refusing to display more than 8 pictures.  It's beyond annoying.  So, if anyone has been having trouble posting on this blog, asking a question about a tutorial, or requesting things or anything else, let me know by emailing me directly.

Also, I've just changed the setting on the blog to allow unregistered users (anyone and everyone) the ability to post comments, but this is going to be on a temporary basis because I don't want spammers to flood the site with a bunch of material I'll have to delete.  But for now it's open just to see if people will be able to post that way.
